Services held for Julius Sattler

Funeral services for Julius G. Sattler of Cedar Rapids formerly of Ft. Atkinson were held at St. Jude Catholic Church on June 5. Interment was in St. John’s Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Julius, 95, died Saturday, June 2, 2001 in Cedar Rapids.

Julius was born February 5, 1906 in Ft. Atkinson.

He married Clara Kalishek. Julius operated a grocery store in Protivin in the 1930s. In 1943 he and his family moved to Cedar Rapids where he worked at Wilson’s Meat packing Plant until 1949. In 1950 he went into the construction business of building houses from which he retired in 1968. A son Alvin who worked with him took over the business and Julius’ grandsons are now operating the business.

He is survived by one son: Alvin; one daughter: Shirley; and grandchildren.

Julius was preceded in death by his wife Clara; his parents; and several sisters and brothers.
