Karen Salisbury, 66, services to be held
Funeral services for Karen Lea Salisbury of Evansdale will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Faith Assembly of God on Elk Run Heights with interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 Thursday at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball and one hour before services at the church on Friday.
Karen, 66, died Sunday{July 26} at her home.
She was born July 21, 1932 in Ridgeway, the daughter of William H. and Louise (Schorr) Taft. She married James L. Salisbury on August 20, 1949 in Cresco.
Karen was a bartender for several years in Evansdale and a member of the Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include one son: Myron Salisbury of Grover City, CA; three daughters: Marsha DeWiese, Vicky Bolin and Rhonda Hoffman, all of Waterloo; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four sisters: Joanne Stockdale of Ridgeway, Jean Iben of Boone, Benita Carney of Iowa City and Peggy Wentworth of Evansdale; one step brother; Austin Blomgren of Holland; and two step sisters: Elaine and LuWane Gaul, both of Cresco.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, James on February 6, 1997; one daughter: Patricia Salisbury; her parents; her step father: Oscar Blomgren; two sisters: Connie Smith and Valdorine Eiffler; one step sister: Grace Roche; and one brother: Myron Taft.
