Services held for Loretta Phillips

Funeral services for Loretta Phillips of Decorah were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 25 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Decorah with Rev. Gary Krapfl officiating. Interment was in St. Benedict’s Church Cemetery in Decorah. French and Balik Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Loretta, 81, died Monday, October 22, 2001 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital in Decorah following a lengthy illness.

She is survived by her husband Marcelline of Decorah; three daughters: Patricia Axmear of Decorah, Barbara Opat of Schley, and Marcia Radeke of Shellsburg; two sons: Peter of Shueyville and Mark of Marion; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six sisters: Clara Williams of Decorah, Almeda Grindland of Texas, Pauline Keune of Fort Atkinson, Beverly Steen of Waterloo, Frances Frana of Decorah, and Kate Holten of Cedar Rapids; and three brothers: Gordon Anderson of Decorah, Donald Anderson of Cedar Rapids, and Herman Anderson of Calmar.
