Services held for Gloria Johnson

Funeral services for Gloria Johnson of Chatfield were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 3 at Chatfield Lutheran Church with the Revs. Christine Finsand and Eric Finsand co-officiating. Interment was in Springfield Lutheran Cemetery in rural Decorah. Riley Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Gloria, 69, died Friday, August 31, 2001 at Rochester Methodist Hospital following a short illness. She had spent the last six weeks in the hospital.

Gloria June Keune was born June 22, 1932 in Cresco, and graduated from Cresco High School in 1951.

On May 10, 1957 she married Lester Johnson in Cresco. She also lived in Decorah, Rochester, and for the last 13 years in rural Chatfield. She was a homemaker and also worked for Olmsted Medical Group and the Mayo Clinic. In 1992 she retired from the Mayo Clinic.

She was active in church and was a member of WELCA and a quilters group. She enjoyed playig{sic} cards, traveling, and golf.

She is survived by her husband: one son: Lance of Oronoco; two daughters: Dawn Moen of Chatfield and Gayleen Johnson of Marion; 10 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and her mother Velma Keune of Stewartville.

Gloria was preceded in death by her father.
