Dessel services held December 6

Funeral services were held for Lucile Dessel Saturday, December 6, at 1:00 p.m. in St. Frances deSales Church in Ossian. French and Balik Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Lucile J. Dessel of Calmar, 88, died November 30 at the Ossian Senior Hospice.

She was born November 15, 1909 in Ossian, the daughter of Andrew Dessel and Katherine (Kate) Cremer Dessel. Following completion of high school she worked as a bookkeeper at Dessel Implement & Auto Company. Lucile began working at the Iowa State Bank in Calmar in 1957 and became a Vice President and Board Secretary for the bank. At the time of her death she was a Director Emeritus for the Iowa State Bank in Calmar. She also served as the first Board Treasurer of Northeast Iowa Community College when it was formed in 1966 and served in that capacity until June of 1981.

Survivors include her sister, Bernice Werner of Calmar.

Lucile was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
