Services held for Marguerite Bishop

Funeral services for Marguerite Sylvia Betts Bishop were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 13, 1997, at Cresco Community Chapel. Interment was in Sanderson Cemetery in Ridgeway.

Marguerite resided in Cresco until 1990 when injuries caused by severe osteoporosis confined her to bed in a nursing home near her daughter in Illinois. She died January 9, 1997, at Cumberland Nursing Home in Greenup, IL.

She was born July 4, 1918, near Cresco, the daughter of William and Ida (Ofstedahl) Betts.

On January 10, 1946, Marguerite was united in marriage to Jack C. Bishop.

She is survived by one son, Alan Bishop of Linden, TN; one daughter, Patricia Wagner of Yale, IL; five grandchildren; six sisters, Katherine Stinson, Ellen Stinson and Beatrice Hovey, all of Cresco; Mildred Hall of Lincoln, NE; Angeline Greenwood of Fridley, MN; and Betty Maley of Rochester, MN; three brothers, Edwin Betts of Agoura, CA; Vern Betts of Protivin; and Charles Betts of Lanesboro, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister; and one brother.
