Services held for Richard Benson

Memorial services were held for Richard Benson of Kansas City, MO on Saturday, October 11.

Richard Truman Benson, 87, died Sunday, September 28, 1997 at his home in South Pasadena, FL.

Richard was born in Winneshiek County on May 16, 1910, the son of Iver and Marie (Johnson) Benson. He opened the Maid-Rite Shop in Cresco in 1947 and married Frances Butler in 1958. In 1981 he moved to Kansas City, MO. Richard was an Army Airborne veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sisters, Lilly Hove of Cresco and Rose Henderson of Albert Lea, MN.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, on September 20, 1997; two sisters, Blanche Iverson of Decorah and Pearl Cooke of Cresco; and one brother, Victor Benson of Cresco.
