Anita Albertson services held

Funeral services for Anita Albertson were held Tuesday, December 16, at Peace Lutheran Church in Ridgeway at 1:30 p.m. with interment in Lincoln Lutheran Cemetery in rural Ridgeway. The Rev. Phillip Olson and Associate in Ministry, Ginny Olson, officiated. Pall bearers were Greg Kilcher, Eldred Kilcher, Kenneth Qualley, Earl Albertson, Walter Brenno and Adolph Brenno. French and Balik Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Anita Albertson, 90, formerly of Ridgeway, died Thursday, December 11, 1997 at the New Hampton Care Center in New Hampton after a long illness.

Born December 14, 1906 in Atkins, the daughter of Arthur and Carrie (Wentworth) Johnson, Anita attended the Ridgeway and Decorah Public School and graduated from Decorah High School in 1926. She attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls from 1927-1928. Anita graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa, Iowa City in 1933 where she was affiliated with the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.

Anita was a rural teacher and also a telephone operator in Ridgeway. She was also a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Ridgeway.

On September 19, 1940 Anita married Melvin Albertson in the Methodist parsonage in Hampton.

Survivors include two sons: Ronald Peter of Lake Elmo, MN, and Dennis Albertson of Fredericksburg; and two grandchildren.

Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; and her parents.
