Word was received here of the death of John Jordahl of Lake Benton, Minn., who passed away at St. Joseph’s hospital in St. Paul, July 21st, following a major operation. Funeral services were held at Lake Benton Wednesday, July 23. John Jordahl was born in Bergan, Norway, Jan. 7, 1870. He came to this country at the age of 17 years and made his home in Ridgeway, until October 1900, when he was united in marriage to Miss Lucy Hornberger of Ridgeway. They made their home on a farm in Lincoln county, Minn., till 1927, when the family moved to Lake Benton where he resided since. Mr. Jordahl took a leading part in all civic and social activities of his community. He served on school, township and creamery boards and was a member of the board of directors of the elevator at Arco for 25 years. Likewise he served his district in the state legislature from 1927 to 1934. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, two sons, Elmer and Clarence and one adopted daughter, Ruth, and five grandchildren; also one brother and sister in Norway. One son, Merlin preceded him in death.
