Funeral services were held for Charles Alvin Fosse, who passed away at his home in La Porte City Saturday, Jan. 18th, on Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Bradley funeral home in Cresco with Rev. L. J. Faris of Ridgeway officiating. The last rites were conducted by the Masons. A short service was held at La Porte City on Sunday afternoon.

The pallbearers were: Theodore Hopperstad, Ole Brenno, Rollin Baker, Albert Aegerter, John H. Bakken and Ole Magnus. Interment was made in the Ridgeway cemetery.

Charles Alvin Fosse, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Fosse, was born in Highlandville, Winneshiek county on Feb. 9, 1879. In infancy he was baptized in the Methodist church. He moved with his parents to Ridgeway when a young boy.

In 1902 he was united in marriage with Lena Degro of Ridgeway. To this union three children were born. Ogden, Lewis and Madeline (Mrs. Ray Johanssen) all of La Porte City.

From 1904 to 1917 he operated a creamery and produce business in Schley. In 1917 he founded the Fosse Produce Co., of La Porte City.

Besides his wife and three children he is survived by his mother, Mrs. L. T. Fosse of Ridgeway, two brothers, Addison of Ridgeway and Tyndall of Decorah and one sister, Mrs. Fred Curtis of Canton, Minn.
