Death of Iver Hopperstad

Funeral services for Iver Hopperstad, who passed away at his home in Decorah on Wednesday were held at the Fjelstul funeral home in Decorah at 1 o’clock and at the Lincoln church at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon. The Rev. M. B. Quill officiated assisted by Rev. D. C. Jordahl of Decorah. Interment was in the Lincoln cemetery. The pallbearers were Ole Brenno, Henry Halvorson, Nels Iverson, Ole Linde, Arnold Albertson and John Johnson. Iver Hopperstad, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ole Hopperstad was born in Lincoln township on October 14, 1858, where he grew to young manhood. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Wangsness and they made their home on a farm in Lincoln township near Ridgeway. They continued to live near here until 5 years ago when they moved to Decorah where he passed away Wednesday morning. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Embert of Iowa City and Clarence of Decorah, and three sisters, Mrs. Geo. Albertson, Mrs. Ole Linde of Ridgeway and Mrs. Lena Albertson of Cresco. One son, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
