Angela Margean Braham

Angela Margean Braham, 80, of McAllen, Texas and formerly of Decorah and Postville, died following a brief illness on Thursday, March 27, 2003.

A memorial service was held at Adobe Wells Country Club in McAllen.

Funeral services will be held at First Lutheran Church in Decorah on Saturday, April 19, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Steven Jacobsen officiating. Burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah.

Angie was born on a farm near Decorah on December 25, 1922, to Roy and Nora (Anderson) Stortz.

Angie was an active lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. She belonged to First Lutheran, Decorah, St. Paul's Lutheran in Postville, and most recently Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McAllen.

She was employed in Decorah and Postville as a secretary and bookkeeper. She loved golfing, reading, dancing and bridge. Angie was an accomplished cook and entertainer. She and Paul loved to travel.

Angie is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Paul Braham, of McAllen, Texas; her daughter, Margeen (Stephen) Mau of LaCrescent, MN; 2 sons, Steven (Ann) Bolson of Mermillion, SD and Rob (Nancy) Bolson of Decorah; 4 grandchildren, one great grandson, nieces and nephews and one brother-in-law, Jules Fretheim. She is also survived by Paul's daughters, Kris (Ray) Nordstrom of Colorado Springs, CO, Ruth Braham (Jim Fitzpatrick) of Jackson, CA, and Jan (Paul) Cottrell of Arlington Heights, IL, and 5 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Eileen Jaastad Fretheim and brother-in-law Gerald Jaastad.

Schutte Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
