Maythel R. Stee, age 92, of Decorah, Iowa, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Aase Haugen Home in Decorah.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Decorah Lutheran Church with Rev. Bryan Robertson officiating. Inurnment is in Pleasant View Cemetery in Castalia, Iowa.

Visitation is on Thursday beginning at 10 A.M., one hour before services, at the church. Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah is serving the family.

Maythel Ruth (Limbeck) Stee was born September 28, 1917 in Ossian, Iowa, the daughter of Jesse J. and Sadie M. (Dinger) Limbeck. She was baptized and confirmed at Methodist Episcopal Church in Ossian, Iowa. Maythel graduated from Ossian High School with the class of 1936.

She was united in marriage to Morton A. Stee in Decorah, Iowa, on May 12, 1937. This union was blessed with eight children: Robert, Sharon, Janet, Barbara, Linda, Doris, Debbie and Shirley.

Maythel worked as a Food Service Supervisor at Luther College for twenty years, retiring in September of 1982. She attended Decorah Lutheran Church and was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Maythel has been a resident of the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah since March 1998.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Morton on October 17, 1982; her son, Robert, on March 3, 2008; her daughter, Debbie Schulte on November 7, 2008; and her sister, Georgia Buyea.

Maythel is survived by six daughters: Sharon (Calvin) Birch of Decorah, Janet (Tom) Stahr of Hawkeye, Iowa, Barbara (Gaylord) Osmundson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Linda (Carmen) Oyloe of Vinton, Iowa, Doris (Tony) Fuller of Maynard, Iowa, and Shirley Langland of Decorah; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 6 step great-grandchildren; her sister, Marge Sanderson of Decorah; her sister-in-law, Hazel Stee of Postville, IA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
