Robert M. Stee, age 68, of Mason City, Iowa and formerly of Decorah, Iowa and Lake Mills, Iowa, died Monday, March 3, 2008 at Muse Norris Inpatient Unit Hospice in Mason City following a long illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Decorah Lutheran Church in Decorah with Rev. Bryan Robertson officiating. Spring Burial will be held at Bloomfield Cemetery in Castalia, Iowa.
Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday, March 7 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah and on Saturday one hour before services at the church.
Robert Morton Stee was born November 25, 1939 in Postville, Iowa, the son of Morton Arnold and Maythel Ruth (Limbeck) Stee. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia, Iowa and confirmed at Decorah Lutheran Church in Decorah, Iowa. Robert attended Decorah and Postville schools.
He was united in marriage to Patricia Kulish in Calmar, Iowa, on March 8, 1967. This union was blessed with two children: Jean Ann and Cathy Mae.
Robert served in the U.S. Army and then worked as a linesman for the Chicago & Northwestern Railroads from December of 1969 until 1983 when he became disabled.
Robert was a big Green Bay Packer fan. He liked to fish, play cards and garden. He loved trains and animals, and loved to go on long walks. Robert was very intelligent, kind, gentle and honest.
He was preceded in death by his father, Morton, on October 17, 1982.
Survivors include his two daughters, Jean Ann (Bill) Haugen of Fertile, Iowa and Cathy (Zach) Henaman of Bristow, Iowa; ten grandchildren: Stephanie, Tyler, Kash, Brittany, Hunter, Chelsea, Logan, Ashley, Zander and Izabella; three great-grandchildren: Madyson, Caleb and Makynna; his mother, Maythel Stee of Decorah, Iowa; seven sisters: Sharon (Calvin) Birch of Decorah, Janet (Tom) Stahr of Hawkeye, Iowa, Barbara (Gaylord) Osmundson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Linda (Carmen) Oyloe of Vinton, Iowa, Doris (Tony) Fuller of Maynard, Iowa, Debbie Schulte of Danbury, Connecticut, and Shirley Langland of Decorah; and by several nieces and nephews.
