George Seifert age, 90 of rural Spillville died Monday June 9, 2008 at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah after a sudden illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday June 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville by Rev. Donald Hawes burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday Balik Funeral Home in Spillville in charge of arrangements
George Seifert was the first-born twin on February 28, 1918, the son of Joseph and Lucy (Snyder) Seifert on the family farm near Conover, Iowa. George attended Winneshiek County Country School and St. Wenceslaus Catholic School. He farmed the family farm along with his four brothers and parents for many years. They picked corn by hand for many years and he enjoyed visiting with people he knew. George liked his cattle and loved to drive the tractor on the farm. He entered the Aase Haugen Nursing Home on October 6, 2003.
George is survived by his twin brother: Alois Seifert, Decorah, IA.
George was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Lucy Seifert. Three brothers: Alvin, Edward and Walter Seifert.
