Clara Riha, age 79, of Ft. Atkinson, IA died Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 Saturday, June 18, 2011 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ft. Atkinson, IA Rev. Nick March presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 at the Schluter Balik Funeral Home Chekal Chapel in Ft. Atkinson with a rosary at 5:00 and scripture service at 6:00 there will also be visitation after 9:30 Saturday morning at the funeral home .
Clara Charlotte Riha was born on May 27, 1932, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Neuzil) Riha on the family farm. Clara attended country schools. Clara stayed at home and enjoyed cleaning of the house and taking care of the garden, cooking, reading and watching TV. She was a lifetime member of St. John’s Nepomucene Catholic Church in Ft. Atkinson, IA.
Clara is survived by her sister: Helen MacMasters, Decorah, IA; Twin brother: Clarence Riha, Fort Atkinson, IA, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Mary Riha. Five sisters: Lillian (Robert) Polashek, Georgina (Julius) Novak, Mary (Felix) Wenthold, Angela (Dean) Fortney, and Josephine (Louverne) Huinker. Two brothers: George and Joseph Riha. Brother-in-law: Gordon MacMasters.
