William Joseph Broghammer

William Joseph Broghammer, 54, Frankville merchant, died Friday at his home of a heart attack.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning in St. Benedict's church at Decorah.

William Joseph Broghammer was born March 19, 1897, in Hesper township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. Broghammer. Both parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Broghammer was married on May 20, 1930, to Anne C. Lydon at Immaculate Conception church in Cedar Rapids.

In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 sons, John Anthony, in the navy, and Robert William, at home. One daughter, Ruth Elaine, died in infancy.

Also surviving are 2 brothers and 7 sisters. They are Albert of Hesper township, Cora of Decorah, Mrs. Clara Detke of Alama, North Dakota, Mrs. F. Groenwald of St. Louis, Missouri, Mrs. T. E. Malanaphy of Decorah, Mrs. Ernest Bowman of Florida, Mrs. Gerald Ryan of Ridgeway, Henry of Chicago, Illinois, and Mrs. John Carolan of Ridgeway. One brother, Roy, died in 1950.

Mr. Broghammer farmed many years in Hesper and Frankville. He was township assessor after moving to Frankville, and operated the Frankville store.
