Nicholas "Nick" J. Brincks
Funeral services for Nicholas J. Brincks were held Tuesday, Jan. 31, 1984 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated assisted by the Rev. David H. Palm. The Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
Nicholas J. Brincks, son of John and Mary (Weber) Brincks, was born April 13, 1919 on a farm near Ossian. He died Saturday morning Jan. 28, 1984 at University Hospitals in Iowa City.
He was baptized at St. Francis De Sales Church in Ossian and became a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia in 1964. He married Elva Turner Oct. 4, 1964 at the Zion Lutheran Church.
He was employed by the local turkey processing plant for a number of years. From 1972 until his retirement in 1982 he was employed by the city of Postville as a sanitation worker.
Nick was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville since 1976.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lisa, in infancy; 3 brothers, Michael, Anton and Leo; and 2 sisters in infancy.
Surviving besides his wife, Elva, are 2 daughters, Linda Martin of Farmersburg and Lola at home; and a grandson, Jammie Martin.
