Mrs. Carl Faldet, Life-Long Resident of County, Dies

Mrs. Carl O. Faldet, 67, died May 19 at her home in Pleasant Township. She was a former school teacher and a life-long resident of Winneshiek County.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 21 at 2 o'clock at Canoe Ridge Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Olaf O. Brandt officiated. Pallbearers were Roger Bigler, Walter Larson, Dale Lundy, Gary Gavle, Thomas Ellingson and William Faldet. Mrs. Melbourne Faldet was organist and accompanied the congregation as they sung hymns. Arrangements were made by Steine Funeral Home.

Mrs. Faldet is survived by her husband, Carl O. Faldet; three sons, Curtis and Merlin Faldet of Decorah and Lowell Faldet of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Philip (Shirley) Severson of Decorah and Mrs. Arthur (Janice) Cornelius of Ridgeway; 17 grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Lundy of Hawthorne, Calif. and Walter Lundy of Decorah and four sisters, Mrs. Walter Gavle and Mrs. Carl Wennes, both of Decorah, Mrs. Donald Goeke of Winona, Minn. and Lillian Roney of Chicago.

The former Thelma A. Lundy, Mrs. Faldet was born June 6 1907 in Winneshiek County, the daughter of George and Hilda Lundy. She attended rural schools in Pleasant Township and was married October 20, 1927 in Glenwood Township.

She was a member of Canoe Ridge Lutheran Church and the ALCW.

Her parents, one sister and one brother preceded her in death.
