MRS. ELLEN SORENSON, BORN IN 1840, DIES AT DAUGHTER'S HOME

Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Sorenson, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Martin Larson, route 7, Decorah, were held Saturday, Sept. 1. The Rev. O. Glesne, pastor of the United Lutheran church, officiated at the funeral service. Interment was made in the Springwater cemetery.

Mrs. Sorenson had been ill for more than a year. The cause of her death was heart failure.

Ellen Anderson was born Jan. 1, 1840, in Norway, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lars Anderson. She grew to womanhood in Norway, and was later married to Soren Sorenson. The children, who survive the loss of their mother, are: Lars, Andrew, Bendick, Anna (Mrs. Martin Larson), Marie (Mrs. Oscar Erickson), all of route 7.

Two sisters, who live in Norway,also survive the loss of the deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Sorenson came to the United States and settled in Winneshiek county in 1895.
