Last Rites Held Friday, May 28 For Levi Sande

Funeral services for Levi Sande, 70, retired milk hauler of Canoe Township were held Friday, May 28 at the Springwater Lutheran Church with burial in the Springwater Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Sande died May 26 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital.

Pastor Allen Nelson conducted the services. Pallbearers were James Roney, Kenneth Larson, Walter Lundy, Edward Halse, Harold Erickson, and Maurice Erickson.

Arrangements were made by Steine Funeral Home. Mrs. Ransom Bolson was organist, and Curtis Moen was soloist.

Mr. Sande was a lifelong resident of Winneshiek County. He was born December 6, 1900 in Canoe Township, the son of Ingebret and Sarah Sande. He attended rural schools and on August 2, 1935 was married to Irma Opfer in Cresco.

He is survived by his mother, his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Richard O'Connell, Rochester, and a son, Howard Sande of Decorah.

Other survivors are seven seven grandchildren, five brothers, Marvin Sande, Decorah, Elder Sande, LeRoy, Minn., Ben Sande, Decorah, Harris Sande, Iowa City, and Selmer Sande, Decorah, and a sister, Mrs. Theodore Berg, Decorah.
