Marvin Sande, 77, Dies March 22; Rites Held Monday
Funeral services for Marvin Sande, 77, of Decorah were held Monday, March 25 at Steine Funeral Home in Decorah with Pastor John Pannkuk officiating. Mr. Sande died March 22 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital.
Burial was in the Springwater Lutheran Cemetery with the following men serving as pallbearers: Paul Arneson, Homer Forde, Ronald Dehning, Arnold Thompson, Ronald Borsheim and Steve Sande. Mrs. Otto Ruen was organist.
Mr. Sande is survived by his wife, the former Laura Dehning; a daughter, Mrs Arthur (Mae) Walter and a son, Bernell Dehning, both of Decorah; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Ben Sande and Selmer Sande, and a sister, Mrs. Theodore Berge all of Decorah.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and his parents, Bert and Sarah Sande.
A life-long resident of Winneshiek County, Mr. Sande had been employed as a laborer in Decorah. He was born February 23, 1897 and received his education in the Springwater Schools. He was married November 25, 1925 at the Decorah Lutheran parsonage.
