Andrew J. Helgerson, age 25 days, of Decorah, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at St Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN from a rare congenital heart defect.

Private Family Interment will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Phelps Cemetery in Decorah by Rev. Dwight Albers.

Visitation is on Friday, December 7, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah.

Andrew Justin Helgerson was born November 10, 2007 in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Justin L. and Angela L. (Jennings) Helgerson, with a rare congenital heart defect. He was later transferred to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN. He was baptized by Pastor Dwight Albers on November 27, 2007 at St. Marys Hospital. His godparents were Katie Helgerson and Abbie Helgerson.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: Harold Richert, Russel & Mary Jennings, and Thelmer & LaRhue Helgerson; and his great-uncle, John Moser.

He is survived by his parents of Decorah; his brother, Austin; his maternal grandparents, Randy & Linda Jennings of Decorah; his paternal grandparents, Kevin & Wendy Helgerson; his maternal great-grandmother, Lavanda Richert of Decorah; his paternal great-grandparents, Darrell & Eunice Bushman of Clermont; his aunts and uncles: Lori (Will) Hageman of Calmar, Tharen (Amanda) Helgerson of Des Moines, Katie Helgerson of Marion, and Abbie Helgerson of Rochester, MN; and cousins: Kyle & Allison Hageman and Jack Helgerson.
