Albert Richards Funeral Services Are Held Monday
Albert F. Richards, 71, of 1006 Paine Street, Decorah, died June 18 in West Union. He had been employed by the Rock Island Railroad before his retirement and prior to that was a farmer.
Funeral services were Monday,June 21 at First Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Albert Houts officiating. Burial was in Springwater Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: David Richards, John Sharp, Merlin Sharp, Raymond Richards, Donald Steffans and Harold Quandahl. William Kuhlman was organist and accompanist for soloist Miss Shirley Gangstad and the congregation as they sang hymns. Arrangements were made by Steine Funeral Home.
Albert Richards was born September 20, 1904 in Winneshiek County, the son of Frank and Mabel Richards. He attended rural schools in Pleasant Township and was married November 3, 1941 to Irene Quandahl at Bethany, Mo.
He is survived by his wife; one brother, Lloyd Richards of Des Moines and two sisters, Violet Wallner of Des Moines and Gladys King of Lemon Grove, Calif.
His parents and three brothers preceded him in death.
Mr. Richards was a member of First Lutheran Church and the I.O.O.F.
