John Jaastad, 84, Succumbs July 8

John G. Jaastad,84, retired Decorah township farmer now living at the Aase Haugen home, died July 8. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11 at 2 p.m. at the Springwater Lutheran church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. T. Thompson will officiate. The Steine funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Otto Severson, Gerald Jaastad, Oscar Erickson, Harry Haugen, Kenneth Larson and Olaus Erickson. The floral committee includes Eileen Jaastad and Gladys Johnson.

Mr. Jaastad was born in Winneshiek county. He never married. He is survived by one brother, Andrew Jaastad, and a sister, Anna Jaastad, both of Decorah.
