Ludvig Quahdahl, Canoe Farmer, Dead at Age 78

Funeral services for Ludvig Quandahl, 78, Canoe Township farmer who died Thursday at Decorah Hospital afer a lingering illness, were held Sunday afternoon at Hauge Lutheran Church.

Burial was in Springwater Lutheran Cemetery. The Rev. Glenn I. Vanderbilt officiated at the services, and arrangements were in charge of Steine Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Floyd Quandahl, Harry Quandahl, Levi Quandahl, Walter Quandahl, Allen Holkesvik and Norman Noecker. Organist was Mrs. Jone Langaas and solist, Mrs. Robert Tekippe. On the foral committee were Miss Hertha Davis and Miss Margo Noecker.

Mr. Quandahl was born in Canoe Township on July 20, 1879, the son of Julia and Lars Quandahl, and was educated in rural schools there. He was married in Decorah in 1913 to Addie Brandt, who survives.

Mr. Quandahl lived in Burr Oak Township for 17 years, and the rest of the time in Canoe Township. He was a member of Hauge Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife and eight children, Lloyd Quandahl and Mrs. Lawrence (Florence) Whitney of Milwaukee; Mrs. Earl (Lilly) Foltz of Mabel; Mrs. Harvey (Lena)Davis of Harmony; Mrs. Milo (Ida) Noecker, Clyde and Allen Quandahl of Decorah,and Howard Quandahl of Burr Oak.

Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a brother, Eddie Quandahl of Decorah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one daughter, three sisters and one brother.
