Rites Held Monday For Mrs. Narveson Of Pleasant Twp.

Funeral rites for Mrs. Narve Narveson, 77, of Pleasant Township were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Springwater Lutheran Church. Mrs. Narveson died at her home Saturday, March 3, after being in poor health for several months.

The Rev. I.M. Gjellstad officiated at the services with burial in the Springwater Cemetery. Pallbearers were Sylvian Severson, Clarence Myhre, Leonard Severson, Ransome Bolson, Hildor Egge and Gerhardt Hellen. The floral committee consisted of Shirley Erickson, Ruth Erickson, Edith Hjelmeland and Eunice Kirkeby. The Steine Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The former Mary I. Erickson was born January 26, 1879, in Pleasant Township, the daughter of Hans and Guri Erickson. Both of her parents preceded her in death. She was educated in the rural schools of Pleasant Township where she has resided all her life.

March 9 1898, she was married to Narve Narveson at the Springwater Lutheran Church of which she was a member. Mr. Narveson died November 8, 1953. She is also preceded in death by one son, Cifford, who died in 1955.

Three grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. Two brothers and two sisters are also living. They are Mrs. Theo. (Ellen) Narveson of Decorah, Mrs. Selmer (Florence) Larson of Decorah and Stanton and Oscar Erickson, also of Decorah. Three brothers and two sisters preceded Mrs. Narveson in death.

The three surviving children are Mrs. Walter (Judith) Ruffridge of Decorah, Mrs. Arnold (Nettie) Soeder of Decorah and Carolla Narveson at home.
