Death Ends Life Of Suffering For Joyce Narveson
Released from years of illness and suffering is Joyce Arlene Narvesnon, 22 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Narveson of near Decorah. Miss Joyce died Friday at 6 p.m. at the home of her parents.
Funeral services are being conducted from the Winneshiek Burial Association at 2 p.m. this (Tuesday) afternoon with services later at the Springwater Lutheran church with burial in the Springwater cemetery. Rev. O. Glesne, of whose church she was a member, officiating.
Miss Joyce had been an invalid for many years. About thirteen years ago she was stricken with infantile paralysis which left her partially crippled. She came to Decorah to attend Decorah high school but had to quit school at the end of her junior year as she had contracted pulmonary tuberculosis. Late this fall this illness was augmented by a stomach disorder. Her death came as a peaceful end to a short life fraught with pain and suffering.
She was born on the home farm October 25, 1915. She is survived by her parents and three sisters Gladys (Mrs. Bernard Aarhus of Canoe), Eunice (Mrs. Truman Kirkeby of Canoe) and Glorianne at home. A brother, Harold, died six years ago.
