Death Relieves Suffering of Harold Narveson

Harold Kermit Duane Narveson passed away at two o'clock Sunday morning, May 22, at the home in Canoe township, at the age of 19 years, 5 months and 13 days.

The deceased was the beloved son of Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Narveson, and was born December 9, 1912, in Oliver county, North Dakota. He came to Winneshiek county with his parents in 1914. He was confirmed May 22, 1927, in the United Lutheran church by Rev. Glesne. He entered the Decorah high school the following September and was about to commence his Senior year when he was taken ill and went to Sunny Crest Sanatorium at Dubuque September 8, 1930, where he remained for more than 19 months. On April 18, 1932, he came home apparently greatly improved, but later developed complications, and underwent intense suffering from which death relieved him early Sunday morning.

Harold through his boyhood and youthful days was at all times trustworthy, honest, courteous and highly respected by his friends. He was ever ready to help others. He had won and maintained an enviable reputation as a young man of industry and high character. During his illness and suffering he was very patient and manifested Christian fortitude and courage to a remarkable degree.

His passing leaves a void inthe bereaved family that can never be filled. To them the sympathy of all is extended.

He is survived by his parents and sister Gladys, Eunice, Joyce and Glorianne.

The funeral services will be held this Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at two o'clock at the Springwater church. Rev. Glesne will officiate, and interment will be at the Sprngwater cemetery.
