Glenn Haga, age 74, of Decorah, Iowa, died on Monday, August 06, 2007, at the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI, following a short illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 10, 2007, at the Madison Lutheran Church with Revs. Phillip and Ginny Olson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, Iowa, and after 10:00 a.m. at the church on Friday morning.

Glenn Marvin Haga was born on April 20, 1933, the son of Carl Olaf and Ida Marie (Bakken) Haga on the family farm in Madison Township. Glenn was baptized on May 7, 1933 and confirmed on May 11, 1947 at the Madison Lutheran Church. Glenn attended country school and graduated from Decorah High school in 1951. He farmed with his father for several years, living in Madison Township all of his life. He loved to farm, drive tractors and ride his horse. Glenn enjoyed going on drives in the area, but he especially loved going to the Family Table Restaurant in Decorah to eat most of his meals. He was very proud of having a Century Farm in Winneshiek County. Glenn entered the Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah in September 2006, due to his declining health. Glenn was a member of the Madison Lutheran Church, serving on the church council and cemetery board.

Glenn’s survivors include his special friend, Donna Bohach, Decorah, IA. Three nieces: Jean Haugen, Aurora, MO; Marilyn (Lorimer) Ellestad, Spring Grove, MN and Linda (Alan) Richards, Sundance, WY. One nephew: Roger (Mary) Erickson, Gilbert, AZ and many great nieces and nephews. Cousins: Francis (Dorothy) Larson, Gerald (Darla) Bakken, all of Decorah, IA; Arleen Rude of St. Olaf, IA. and Phyllis (Ralph) Leistikow, St. Charles, MN. A close friend: Francis (Ardelle) Myran, Decorah, IA.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Ida Haga; one sister: Helen Erickson in April 3, 1999; and one cousin: Howard Bakken in January 6, 1988.
