Lottie A. Good, age 100, of Bluffton, IA, died Tuesday morning, November 1, 2011 at Wellington Place in Decorah.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Decorah Lutheran Church in Decorah with Rev. Donald Cox of Waterloo, IA officiating. Burial will be in Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Friday, November 4 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah and on Saturday one hour before the service at the church.

Lottie Ann (Dawley) Good was born on December 5, 1910 in the family’s log cabin on the banks of Pine Creek north of Bluffton, IA, the daughter of Charles and Cordelia (Crane) Dawley. She attended rural schools and high school in Decorah.

Lottie was united in marriage to Ecil M. Good on April 11, 1935 in Decorah, IA. This union was blessed with two sons: Charley and David. Also, for the last 67 years, a special niece, Joyce Brandt, has lived with them. Joyce has helped care for Lottie the last number of years. Lottie and Ecil farmed for many years near Bluffton and enjoyed working on their land, tending the earth they so greatly cared for. She also like to garden and did a lot of canning. Charley now farms the home farm in Bluffton.

She had a strong Christian faith, was a long time member of the Assembly of God Church in Cresco and she taught Sunday School for many years.

Lottie is survived by her two sons: Charley E. (Sandy) Good of Decorah and David R. (Rosa) Good of Waterloo, IA; six grandsons: Lathan Good of Winona, MN, Lance (Kim) Good of Washburn, IA, Russell (Jody) Good of Eyota, MN, Ryan (Mandy) Good of Rochester, MN, Mitchell Good of Rochester, MN and Eli Good of Waterloo, IA; one granddaughter, Kristy Good of Decorah; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Vyra Masters of Canton, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Joyce Brandt of Decorah.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ecil on January 6, 1994; eight brothers: Edwin, Thomas, Harry, Clarence, John, Jessie, Roscoe and Clifford; and two sisters: Grace Morgan and Mabel Brandt.
