Harold A. Falck, age 57, of Decorah, Iowa, died Friday, July 14, 2006 at his home of cancer.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Decorah, by the Rev. Kim W. Smith, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah and an hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church.

Harold Arlen Falck was born on April 23, 1949 in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Harry and Nellie (Hanson) Falck. He was baptized in May 1949 at Hauge Lutheran Church and confirmed on June 21, 1964 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Locust. He attended rural school and graduated from North Winneshiek High School with the class of 1967.

On September 5, 1970, Harold married Irene H. Haugen at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Decorah, IA. To this union two children were born: Brenda and Randy.

Harold worked at Sinclair Gas Station, then at Farm Service after which he farmed for many years, first north of town and then south of town. He also worked at Phelps Cemetery part-time for several years.

Harold was a member of Washington Prairie Lutheran Church and was on the Board of Trustees at church as well as an usher. He was also a former member of the Winneshiek County Extension Board. Harold enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Falck on March 26, 1980; an infant brother; his father-in-law, Ivan Haugen; and his brother-in-law, James Haugen.

Harold is survived by his wife, Irene of Decorah; two children and two grandchildren, Brenda Falck and her daughter Shawnee of Decorah and Randy (Janet) Falck and their son Cody of Decorah; his mother, Nellie Falck of Decorah; his three brothers, Phillip Falck of McDonald, PA, Willie (Holly) Falck of Decorah, and Steve (Terry) Falck of Decorah; his four sisters, Marie (Gary) Headington of Decorah, Suzanne (Brett) Willey of Castalia, IA, Rebecca (Phil) Heying of Decorah, and Inga (Jody) Martin of Prairie du Chien, WI; his mother-in-law, Elsie Haugen of Decorah and an aunt, two uncles and several nieces and nephews.
