Leo R. “Pat” Einck, 79, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, October 10, at Manor Care Health Services.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and Evansdale Amvets Post 31.
Public visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty – Waychoff – Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway where there will be a 7:00 p.m. vigil. Visitation also for an hour before services at the church on Thursday.
He was born February 18, 1932 in Festina, son of Joseph and Catherine Huinker Einck. He married Bernice Ameling April 11, 1959 at St. Luke’s in St. Lucas. Leo was a US Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was employed with John Deere for 32 years, retiring in 1987.
Pat' survivors include his wife: Bernice. Two sons, Gary (Becky) of Peoria, Ariz. and Scott of Parkersburg; a daughter, Karla (Pat) Pierson of Cambridge; five granddaughters, Raine Allen, Nicole Einck and Sydney, Paige and Allie Pierson; sisters-in-law, Freda Einck of Decorah, Rita Lou Einck of Waterloo, Marcella Wurzer, of New Hampton, Arlene Huinker of Calmar, Ida Ameling of Fort Atkinson, Colette Ameling of West Union, Alma Ameling of St. Lucas and a brother-in-law, Dale Ott of Festina, IA.
Preceded in death by five brothers, Edwin (Irene), Herbert, Jerome, Leander (Adela) and Leroy (Deanna) Einck; three sisters, Lorraine (Ole) Schrandt, Rose (Loren) Nathem and Helen Ott; brothers-in-law, Joe (Bernice), Clarence, Richard (Colette Huber; Adeline Grimm), Felix, Alfred (Elaine) and Irvin Ameling, Anton Wurzer, Robert Huinker and a sister-in-law, Viola (Cletus) Mihm.
