Funeral Services Held For Mrs. W. E. Bollman

Funeral services were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical United Brethren Church at Castalia for Mrs. W. E. Bollman, who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Oliver Lee at Dexter, Minnesota on February 28, following a lingering illness of two years.

The rites were in charge of Rev. Harlan Snow of the E. U. B. Church and burial was in Pleasant View cemetery.

Elizabeth Catherine Spahr was born on February 25, 1873 in Fayette county, the daughter of John and Sarah Spahr. When she was one year old she moved with her parents to a farm near Castalia where she lived until the time of her marriage. She was married to Willard Bollman on March 7, 1893 and the young couple settled on a farm near Castalia, later farmed in South Dakota, returning to Iowa where they farmed near Decorah.

Surviving are 8 daughters, Mrs. Velma Franger of San Diego, California, Mrs. Iva Billick of Brookings, South Dakota, Mrs. Delyla Timmerman of Castalia, Mrs. Vivian Metz of Hoopeston, Illinois, Mrs. Ruth Lee of Dexter, Minnesota, Mrs. Ulah Nordheim of Decorah, Mrs. Winifred White of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and Mrs. Inez Wyboeny of Plymouth, Iowa; and one son, Cyril Bollman of San Fernando, California. Also surviving are 42 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, one sister and one brother.

Her husband, one son Ellery and one sister preceded her in death.

After her husband's death, she made her home with her daughter Mrs. Arno Timmerman near Castalia with the exception of the last 10 months which she spent with her daughter, Mrs. Lee at Dexter, where she passed away February 28.
