Vendolin Timp, age 86 of Ft. Atkinson, IA. died Tuesday August 9, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Postville, IA. after a long illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday August 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John’s Catholic Church in Ft. Atkinson by Rev. David Beckman burial will be in St. John’s cemetery

Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00 until 8:00 at the Schluter Balik Funeral Home Chekal Chapel in Ft. Atkinson with a rosary at 4:00 and a scripture service at 7:00 there will also be visitation until 10:30 Friday at the funeral home. Vendolin Henry Timp was born on October 11, 1918 the son of Theodore and Ida (Holthaus) Timp on the family farm south of Calmar, Iowa. Vendolin attended St. Aloysius Catholic School in Calmar. He married Rita Zweibohmer on September 24, 1945 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Ossian, Iowa. Together they farmed near Festina for one year and then near Fort Atkinson for many years. They retired in 1981 and moved into Fort Atkinson. Vendolin enjoyed his family, farming, dancing, old time music, gardening and yard work. Family and friends will remember him for his generosity, wisdom and quick wit.

Vendolin’s survivors include his three daughters: Beverly Kuker & husband Rich, Sumner, IA; Bernice Kipp & husband Leon, Fort Atkinson, IA and Sue Byng & husband Stephen, Townsville, Australia. Two sons: Roger Timp & wife Patricia, Decorah, IA and John Timp & wife Brenda, Calmar, IA. Sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Two sisters: Delores Kuboushek, Decorah, IA and Arlene Bohr, Cresco, IA. One sister-in-law: Elsie Timp, Calmar, IA and one brother-in-law: Paul Tekippe, Fort Atkinson, IA.

Vendolin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rita on Sept. 18, 2003; one brother: Donald Timp; one sister: Seraphia Tekippe; two brothers-in-law: Wilfred Bohr and Raymond Kuboushek
