Ole attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Festina and after his schooling, Ole worked as a hired man. He enlisted in the US Army, during World War II, serving in the South Pacific. After returning to Festina, he married Lorraine Einck on June 5, 1946, at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church.
