Sally Koenig, age 56, of Denver, IA, died on Sunday, May 1, 2011, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 5, 2011, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, IA, with Rev. Steve Brackett presiding.
Friends may call from: 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Balik Funeral Home in Spillville, IA, and after 9:30 a.m., at the church on Thursday morning.
Sally Kathleen (Klimesh) Koenig was born March 28, 1955 in Decorah, IA to Walter and Florine (Herold) Klimesh. Sally attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School in Spillville, IA and graduated from South Winneshiek High school in Calmar, IA in 1973. Sally married Brad Koenig on July 26, 1986 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Postville, IA. Sally worked at Big Bear, Monona Wire, Oshkosh Design and United Equipment Accessories. In 1995, the family moved from Frankville to Berlin, WI, and in 2006, moved to Denver, IA. Sally enjoyed gardening, antiques, feeding the birds, canning, taking pictures and was known to have the gift of gab, but above all, she enjoyed her family and friends.
Sally is survived by her husband: Brad Koenig, Denver, IA. One son: Blaine Koenig, Denver, IA. Father and mother-in-law: Harlen and Lorraine Koenig, Postville, IA. Three sisters: Sherry (Steve) Bouska, Ridgeway, IA; Peggy (Dave) Beastrom, Cedar Rapids, IA; and Jean (Brett) Bednar, Cedar Rapids, IA. One sister-in-law: Pat (Mark) Klimesh, Ridgeway, IA. One brother: Paul (Connie) Klimesh, Winterset, IA. Three brothers-in-law: Don (Judy) Koenig, Wakefield, NE; Duane (Norma) Koenig, Postville, IA; and Doug (Rhonda) Koenig, Frankville, IA. Four sisters-in-law: Shirley (Jerry) Blakeslle, Boscobel, WI; Luann (Cal) Vasek, Racine, WI; Peggy (Brian) Keuning, Menlo, IA; and Lisa (Brian) Snitker, Frankville, IA. and many extended family members.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents and One brother: Kenneth Klimesh on May 16, 2002
