Ione Beatha Treangen, age 83, of Spring Grove, Minn., and formerly of Decorah, passed away Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Tweeten Lutheran Healthcare Center in Spring Grove.

Ione was born Sept. 4, 1927 in Spring Grove to Arnold and Bernice (Erickson) Wiste.

She was a lifelong area resident, attending rural school. On Dec. 11, 1943 she married Clifford Treangen. The couple farmed near Decorah, for many years, during this time Ione had also worked at Cam-Car in Decorah. Clifford passed away Jan. 8, 1993.

Ione was an active member of Decorah Lutheran Church, she enjoyed volunteering at Vesterheim in Decorah, quilting, sewing, needlework, flower gardening, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter Beverly (Paul) Stoskopf of Decorah; four grandchildren: Laurie of Rochester, Minn., Vernon (Dee) of St. Charles, Minn., Virgil (Teresa) of Owatonna, Minn., Jason of International Falls, Minn., and Justin of West Branch; four great-grandchildren, Ella, Ethan and Tavyn; three brothers: Orrin (Marlys) Wiste of Stewartville, Minn., three sisters: Betsy Sand, Alvina (Lester) Vongroven, and Dorothy Treangen of Spring Grove, Minn.; and her sister-in-law Carmona Wiste of Spring Grove, Minn. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her husband Clifford and her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Carol in infancy, her brother Arvid Wiste, her brothers-in-law Odell Treangen and Curtis Sand, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 11 a.m. at Church, with Paster Bryan Robertson officiating. Burial is at the Lutheran Cemetery, Decorah. Visitation is today (Tuesday) from 3 to 5 p.m. at Roble Funeral Home, Spring Grove, and continues one hour prior to service time at the church on Wednesday.
