Christopher S. Toney passed away suddenly Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Chris was born in Wilmington, Delaware, to Heidi and Gordon “Jack” Toney. He attended Howard Career Center High School in New Castle, Delaware, graduating in 1984. Chris had a long-term career with DOT foods in Williamsport, MD, followed by a job at Walmart, Decorah, and most recently, at Grain Millers Inc., in St. Ansgar.

Chris enjoyed fishing, camping, hanging out with his friends, watching football, and playing with his young cousins. He will be missed by all. Chris is survived by his mother, Heidi Toney, of Cresco; cousins: Ede (Mark) Rollins of Decorah, Todd (Christy) Hofsaess of Des Moines, James (Sandee Messina) Coates of Succasunna, NJ.; an uncle; Fred Hofsaess of Perkasie, Pa.; and extended family and friends. Chris was preceded in death by his father.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at Conway Funeral Home, in Cresco at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Massa officiating.
