Roselyn Lensch, age 68, of Decorah, Iowa, died on Monday, August 30, 2010, at the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 3, 2010, at the Springfield Lutheran Church, rural Decorah, Iowa, with Rev. Norman Bauer presiding. Burial will be in the Springfield Cemetery, Decorah, Iowa.

Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, Iowa.

Roselyn Randine (Styve) Lensch was born on March 3, 1942, the daughter of Lester and Violet (Severson) Styve in Iowa City, Iowa. She was baptized in 1942, at the First Lutheran Church in Decorah. She attended grade school in Decorah and graduated with the class of 1960. On September 17, 1960, she was united in marriage to David Charles Lensch at the First Lutheran Church in Decorah. To this union, they were blessed with five children: James, Cathy, Kevin, Lori and Kent. Together they farmed near Ridgeway and then south of Decorah for many years. Roselyn was very active member at Springfield Lutheran Church, where she held many offices, taught Sunday school, and held several offices with WELCA. She also served as Chairman of the Milkmaids Dairy Women and as Chairman for two terms on the Pork Board. Roselyn also was a 4-H Leader for the Calmar Creators. Roselyn always said that her husband, David was her best friend over the years; together they were married just short of fifty years, by eighteen days.

Roselyn’s survivors include her husband: David Lensch, Decorah, IA. Two daughters: Cathy (Mark) Nelson, Decorah, and Lori (Loren) Luzum, Decorah, IA. Three sons: Jim (Verla) Lensch, Lime Springs, IA; Kevin (friend, Mary Sacquitne) Lensch, Decorah, IA; and Kent Lensch, Decorah, IA. Eight grandchildren: Matthew Lensch, Kyle (fiance, Katelyn Haw) Lensch, & Michael Lensch; Adam & Brittany Nelson; and Andrew, Isaac & Aric Luzum. One sister: Charlene (Gene) Brainard, Waukon, IA. One brother: Mark (Linda) Styve, Waterloo, IA. Two brothers-in-law: John (Muriel) Lensch, Decorah, IA and Harry (Mary Lou) Lensch, Decorah, IA. One sister-in-law: Ruth Lensch, Decorah, IA. Two uncles: Reuben Styve and Peter (Hazel) Styve, both of Decorah, IA. Two aunts: Marjorie Severson, Decorah, IA and Arla Hirsch, Charles City, IA. One step-aunt: Mildred Danielson, Burr Oak, IA, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews, special friends and neighbors.

Roselyn was preceded in death by her parents: Lester and Violet (Severson) Styve. Her mother-in-law: Sadie Lensch Ward, as well as many aunts and uncles.
