Julie D. Lynch-Letkewicz, age 56, of Naperville, Ill., formerly of Decorah, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at Edward Hospital in Naperville, after a long illness.
A visitation was from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home in Naperville, and after 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at St. Timothy Lutheran church in Naperville. Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 14, at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Naperville, with Pastor Melissa Bills officiating. Organist was Debbie Cargo. Congregational hymns were “My Hope is Built on Nothing Less,” “Amazing Grace,” “Here I Am Lord,” “Lord You Give the Great Commission” and “A Mighty Fortress.” Interment was at Naperville Cemetery.
Julie Lynch-Letkewicz was born April 16, 1954, in Decorah, the daughter of Thomas and Florence Lynch. She attended Thomas Roberts High School in Decorah, and was the Salutatorian of the Class of 1972.
She graduated with honors from Central College in Pella in 1976, with a degree in history and German. She worked for 20 years at the Woodridge Public Library in Woodridge, Ill., and was a longtime member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Naperville.
She was united in marriage with Larry Letkewicz on Sept. 15, 1979, at First Lutheran Church in Decorah.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Letkewicz of Naperville; her three children: Christopher Letkiwicz of Chicago, Ill., and twin daughters Courtney Letkewicz of Milwaukee, Wis., and Casey Letkewicz of Raleigh, N.C.; her mother, Florence Lynch of Decorah; two brothers: Timothy (Mary Kay) Lynch of Decorah and Lawrence Lynch of Decorah; her mother-in-law, Lucille Letkewicz, her sister-in-law, Judith Kiely; and by many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her father, Thomas C. Lynch.
