Funeral services for Mrs. Henry F. Knoke, who died at the family home, 603 Decorah avenue Tuesday night, Jan. 6, at 9:40 o’clock from a sudden heart attack , were held Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Knoke had not been ill previously, ate a hearty supper, and was seized with the heart attack shortly before her death. The funeral services were held from the home at 1:30 and from the First Lutheran church at 2:00 o’clock. The pastor, Rev. T. A. Hotf officiated, and interment was in the Locust cemetery.
Caroline Barth was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Barth, and was born in Pleasant township, Winneshiek county, Iowa, April 4, 1867.
On April 26, 1892, she was united in marriage to Mr. Knoke, and they made their home on a farm in Canoe township until 15 years ago when they retired and moved to Decorah.
They were the parents of six children, four sons and two daughters, all of whom are living. The are Clarence, Canoe township, Edward, Hesper township, Ernest, Canoe township, Delbert, Hopkington, Iowa, Laura (Mrs. Victor Berg), Lily (Mrs. Bennie Berg), both of Canoe township.
Surviving also are ten grandchildren, five brothers and one sister. They are Frank, of Canoe, Henry, of Hesper, Alvin, of Decorah, Charles, Preston, Minn,, Mike Barth, Dorchester, Iowa, Jake Pleasant township.
Mrs. Knoke was beloved and __?___ by her neighbors and a host of friends. She was a good wife and mother and her death brings sorrow to all her friends who extend deep sympathy to the husband, children, brothers and sister.
The Fjelstul funeral home had charge of the funeral arrangements.
