Memorial services for Gladys A. Pike, age 81, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 15 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Inurnment will be at the Cedar Memorial Mausoleum. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Gladys Aileen, daughter of Christian and Inger Gurina (Lervold) Hansen, was born May 30, 1926 in Ossian, Iowa. She married Donald R. Pike on December 13, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri. Gladys was the Director of volunteer and disaster Services with the Grant Wood Area American Red Cross for 21 years. She was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the 55 Plus at St. Mark's and sang with the Sweet Adelines. Gladys cared very much for her family, her church, her friends, her music and for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Gladys Aileen Pike died Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center following a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Andrew Pike and a great-nephew Ryan Rogness.

She is survived by her husband Donald, her daughter, Kris (Henry) Ruprecht of Swisher, Iowa, two sons, Robert (Janet) Pike of Longs, South Carolina and Craig (Barbara) Pike of Jacksonville, Florida; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Irene Rogness of Ossian, Iowa.
