20 Jan 1976Mrs. Arthur Evenrud of Decorah died January 16 at the Eastern Star Home at the age of 85.
A life-long resident of Winneshiek County and Decorah, she was born in Glenwood Township and had lived there until 1962 when she moved to Decorah.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 19 at Glenwood Lutheran Church with burial in the Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery. Pastor Olaf O. Brandt conducted final rites. Pallbearers were Chester Hill, Benjamin Hill, Philip Smorstad and Mervin Hill. Miss Carrie Kvamme was organist and accompanied the congregation as they sang hymns.
Mrs. Evenrud is survived by her husband; a son, Hayward Evenrud of Decorah; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Julius Tangen, Decorah, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helena Hill, seven brothers, one sister, one daughter (Mrs. Oliver (Arla) Ruen) who died in 1961, and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Evenrud, the former Olga B. Hil, was born June 16, 1890. She attended rural schools and was married March 6, 1913 in the Glenwood Lutheran Church where she was a long-time member.
