Phyllis Arlene Stoskopf was born March 25, 1920 in the state of Washington to the Reverend Carl and Pearl Losen. Phyllis moved to Locust, Iowa at the age of seven, where her father was pastor at St. John’s Lutheran Church. She graduated from Decorah High School and attended Luther College. She married her lifetime friend, Erlin Stoskopf on May 17th 1940 at St. Johns. The couple made their home on a farm near Burr Oak, Iowa where Phyllis was a homemaker. She gave much of her time to St. Johns and Hauge Churches as the organist and choir director for 25 years. In 1961, they moved into Harmony, Minnesota and joined the Greenfield Lutheran Church. She belonged to the Esther Circle.

Phyllis was known for her warmth and hospitality. She always gave an extra measure of love and kindness to everyone she knew and met, and she will be fondly remembered by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sons, Loren and Lowell.

She is survived by her husband; 2 daughters: Carleen Stoskopf of Columbia, South Carolina and Laurel Lange of Lewiston, Minnesota; a foster son, Ronald Gillund of Fairfax, Iowa; four grandchildren; a brother. Carl Losen of Richmond, Virginia; 2 sisters: Lois Williams of Green Valley, Arizona and Evelyn Hayes of Detroit, Michigan.
