Funeral services for Hazel G. A. Schweinefus, age 73, of Ossian, Iowa will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1 at the Ossian Lutheran Church with burial in the Stavanger Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Ossian, Iowa. The Schmitz Funeral Home of Ossian is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Hazel, daughter of Hilmer and Stella (Arness) Hexom, was born August 31, 1915. She died of natural causes on Sunday, November 27, 1988 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbie L. Schweinefus who died February 27, 1984, a daughter Lois Ann Schweinefus, and a great-granddaughter.

Hazel is survived by her 2 sons, Conley (JoAnn) Schweinefus of Hiawatha, Iowa and DuWayne (Georgiann) Schweinefus of Ossian, Iowa, 3 daughters, Janice (Dwight) Sorenson and Suzan (Curtis) Brown, both of Hiawatha, Iowa, and Nancy (Mark) Scheidel of Ossian, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; a brother, Howard Hexom of Hanover Park, Illinois, and 2 sisters, Grace Olson of Parrish, Florida and Lillian Fitzgerald of Cresco, Iowa.
