Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services for Clarence N. Brincks, age 82, of Ossian, Iowa will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic church in Ossian with Msgr. Cletus J. Hawes and area priests officiating.
Clarence N. Brincks, son of Herman and Pauline (Weber) Brincks, was born in Winneshiek County, Iowa on August 25, 1920. He was one of seven children. He was baptized, confirmed, and attended school at St. Francis DeSales in Ossian where he graduated in 1934. On October 12, 1943 he was united in marriage to Marie A. Hageman at St. Aloysius Church in Calmar, Iowa. They became the parents of nine children. Clarence was a farm most of his life, retiring in 1975. He enjoyed farming, gardening, working as a carpenter, loved music, good friends, and being with his children and grandchildren.
Clarence N. Brincks died of cancer on August 3, 2003 at his home in Ossian, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Raymond Brincks, and four sisters, Rose Meyer, Theresa Bullerman, Olive Susan Holthaus, and Mary Elizabeth Bullerman.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Marie; his 9 children, Shirley Frana of Calmar, Iowa, Bernice (Vern) Dietzenbach of Fort Atkinson, Iowa, Larry (Inez) Brincks of Decorah, Iowa, Don (Nancy) Brincks of Calmar, Iowa, Marilyn (Dennis) Holthaus of Decorah, Iowa, Joann (Dean) Franzen of Elkader, Iowa, Dennis (Janice) Brincks of Postville, Iowa, Randy (Mary) Brincks of Ossian, Iowa, and Lyle (Laura) Brincks of Ossian, Iowa; 28 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren; a sister Anne (Francis) Hageman, a brother-in-law, Ralph Holthaus, and a sister-in-law, Hildegard Brincks.
