Ethel Crabtree, 89, dies April 1
Funeral services for Ethel Crabtree, 89, of Decorah, will be held Friday, April 5 at 10:30 a. m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ.
Miss (sic) Crabtree died April 1 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital.
Rev. James W. Schaefer will conduct the services. Soloist is Mrs. W. D. Willer and organist is Mrs. Ransome Bolson. Steine's Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements, with burial at Frankville Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Walter Wagner, Carmen Wagner, Lester VanWey, Melvin McConnell, Darrell Crabtree, Robert Koch and Ransome Bolson.
Ethel was born Jan. 26, 1896 at Ossian, a daughter of John T. and Margarite S. (Stevens) Ewing. She attended rural schools of Winneshiek County and married Clarence R. Crabtree on June 19, 1919. She had been a homemaker all her life and was a member of the Congregational Church and church circle.
Survivors include one son, John C. Crabtree of Hiawatha, Ia.; six
grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, one daughter and two sisters.Postville, Iowa newspaper of the time clipping, from Dorothy Schave's obituary collection.

sister - Della A. (Ewing) Snitker, born Sept. 7, 1886; husband, John Snitker, son of Wm. and Anna (Flackmeier) Snitker.
