Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services for Madeline Buddenberg of Castalia, Iowa were held Monday, November 5, 1990 at 11 a.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia, Iowa. The Rev. Howard W. Wolfgram officiated and the Schutte Funeral Service of Postville, Iowa was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Castalia, Iowa. Casket bearers were Dale Blumhagen, Jack Hagensick, Milton Meyer, Kenneth Hageman, Gary Breitsprecher, and Herb Meyer. Honorary pallbearers were Dale Bodensteiner, Earl Stendel, Roger Koenig, Richard Leibold, Roger Monroe, Jerry Monroe, Dean Monroe, Keith Bodensteiner, Larry Brockway, and Reggie Gross.
Madeline Lois, daughter of Harold LeAllen and Naida (Peckham) Rawson, was born December 23, 1940 in Winneshiek County near Castalia, Iowa. She was baptized in the Methodist Church in Castalia, Iowa. She graduated from the Ossian High School and the LPN nursing program at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. On June 2, 1960 she was married to Henry William "Bill" Buddenberg in the United Methodist Church in Castalia, Iowa. They had 5 children. They lived on their farm in Bloomfield Township. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran church in Castalia, Iowa.
Madeline Buddenberg died Thursday, November 1, 1990 in the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Rawson and a son Brett Buddenberg who died in 1985.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; 3 sons, Randy Buddenberg of Decorah, Iowa, Doug Buddenberg and Bruce Buddenberg, both of Castalia, Iowa; a daughter, Lynn Monroe of Ossian, Iowa; 6 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Karel Rawson of West Union, Iowa, Robert Rawson of Freeport, Iowa, and Wesley Rawson of Castlaia, Iowa; and a sister, Leota Knudsvig of Decorah,, Iowa.
