Kittleson, age 99, of Decorah, Iowa were held Monday, April 9 at 11 a.m. at Big Canoe Lutheran Church with Pastor Philip Larson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Fjelstul Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Larry Nolting, Ron Tillman, Roger Ellefson, Mitch Johnk, Larry Dundee, and Ross Ellefson. Honorary pallbearers were Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Grotegut, Mr. and Mrs. Norine Danielson, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Wennes, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Arneson.
Theodore G. Kittleson, son of Gullick and Ingoborg (Gullickson) Kittleson, was born March 5, 1891 in Highland Township in Winneshiek County, Iowa. He attended rural Winneshiek County schools. On April 14, 1915 he married Lena Brunsvold at Big Canoe Church. Lena passed away on December 19, 1964. Theodore farmed in Highland Township until the late 1940's when he moved to Decorah where he began working for the L.C. Bolson Company. He worked there until the early 1960's. He was a member of Big Canoe Lutheran Church and Farm Bureau. He had been a resident of the Aase Haugen Home since June 2, 1978.
Theodore G. Kittleson died Thursday, April 5, 1990 at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah, Iowa. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son Orville Kittleson who died September 4, 1955; 3 brothers, Leander Kittleson, Arthur Kittleson, and Henry Kittleson; and 2 sisters, Ida Wennes, and Josie Hendrickson.
He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Doris Pothast of Waukon, Iowa; 4 granddaughters, Doreen Nolting of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Lynn Ellefson of Waterville, Iowa, Pam Dundee of Waukon, Iowa, and Lori Tallman of LaCrosse, Wisconsin and 11 great-grandchildren in addition to nieces and nephews.
